Daylight savings starts this weekend and I cannot wait for longer, warmer days. Of course, I need to be careful what I wish for because in Napa it usually feels like we skip spring altogether. We get a cold, wet winter and then we get summer. There’s no in between. But I’m hoping for a few glorious 70 degree days, lots of fresh peas and some early season strawberries. I just ordered a bunch of flower seeds from Eden Brothers and am ready to putter around in the garden like a Blue Zone octogenarian.
I’m also revisioned out on my manuscript and am taking a break to write a few shorter essays — it feels good to shift focus away from the story I’ve been living in for ages and think about new angles and ideas. Lots percolating!
I hope you have a wonderful week full of good creative energy! xx
🫒 Jacket: How good is this Zara jacket?? The color, the sophisticated quilting, the ties at the waist! And it happens to be less than $90.
🥣 Soup: I’ve made this Thai-inspired coconut soup with chicken meatballs twice in the past two weeks. Aside from grating a ton of ginger and garlic, there’s minimal prep and the whole family devours it. Serve it with extra limes, some garlic naan and double the broth so you’re not fighting over it.
🍒 Bag: I use Baggu bags endlessly for grocery shopping, schlepping all of the snacks to the park because these kids are bottomless pits, tucked in suitcases for dirty clothes… the list goes on. I’m mad about this new cherry tile print!! Also eyeing this picnic blanket and this gingham trimmed canvas tote.
🖤 Dress: A simple, sexy ribbed dress to wear with thin black flip flops so I can feel like a cool 90s girl.
💎 Necklace: I ordered two of these pretty initial necklaces to tuck into Easter baskets — my kids will feel so special and I’m hoping they’ll let me wear them from time to time. So sweet layered together.
💙 Anorak: A great preppy feeling men’s anorak to wear for all the in-between spring days. Love the nautical navy and white version. Ahoy!
🎾 Polo: When my daughter started taking tennis lessons a few years ago I was itching to get back in the swing of things (pun intended). I love being outside, working up a sweat. It makes me feel so good in my body. But I hate how short and tight all of the women’s tennis clothes are. Turning to Tracksmith’s men’s section for this vintage inspired polo to wear with some track shorts.
🌼 Daisy Chain: Adorable paper daisy chains to string everywhere in time for Easter.
🫧 Floss: I’ve been doing Bon’s videos for a few weeks now, ever since reading about her on CAP’s newsletter, and her fascia-focused practices feel delicious on tight, tired muscles. I do them on off days from more intensive workouts or when I need a little extra sweetness. I’m fascinated by fascia, the connective tissue that touches every single part of the body. Healthy fascia, healthy me.
LOVE that 90s dress!!! So perfect!
I have a Where's Waldo bagu and I get more comments on it than any article of clothing I've ever owned
